Off-campus Accident or Injuries:

All injuries occurring while off campus must be reported to the Hale Ola nurse. The nurse will assist with directions for appropriate care and referrals for treatment of such injuries.

The nurse will also notify parents and sponsors of the accident/injury and obtain their permission for treatment if such is needed. The above injury/accident must be checked at Hale Ola on the first day of their return. If Hale Ola is closed, the dorm advisors can contact the Nurse Practitioner for advice and directions for treatment or referral.

Accidents or injuries that occur off campus on weekends when the student has checked out of the dorms are the responsibility of the parent/guardian/sponsor. However, the responsible person should contact the student’s dorm advisor regarding the accident or injury. The dorm advisor will also have a copy of the student’s Medical Care Permit and may be able to assist if such information is not available to the responsible party. When the student readmits to school, he/she should report to Hale Ola and bring copies of any physician visit, activity restrictions, etc., which relate to the above accident/injury.
