Admission to Hale Ola:

Students whose illness or injury requires care that cannot be properly or safely provided for in the dorm are admitted to Hale Ola where close observation can be given by the nurse on duty. Students are allowed to check out with parents/guardians/sponsors, but it is preferred that they stay in Hale Ola where closer medical observation and treatment can be given.

If admitted, they will be seen by the Nurse Practitioner and a decision is made as to their disposition:

  1. Return to school,
  2. Return to their dorm after school, or
  3. Remain in Hale Ola

Readmit:

All boarding students must readmit back to school/dorm through Hale Ola or Kalanimoku Dispensary with a parent/guardian note for any medical absences. If a student is absent for more than five days, a doctor’s note is required.

If a student requires an off-activity pass due to illness or injury, he/she must check through Hale Ola or Kalanimoku Dispensary for such passes/excuses.
