  • 1 lb. 8 oz. Butter
  • 8 oz. Shortening
  • 1 lb. Sugar
  • 3 lbs. Flour
  • 1/2 oz. Baking Soda
  • 1/4 cup Almond Extract
  • Red Food Coloring

Prep

Cream the butter, shortening, sugar and almond extract together. Add the flour and baking soda to mixture.

Cooking

Use a #40 rice scoop* and press down lightly on cookie sheet. Thickness can vary to your liking. Use a wooden chopstick and dip into red food coloring to add dot to the middle of cookie. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 10 minutes then serve.

* If you do not have a rice scoop, you can make small cookie balls and press with cookie down with your hands.
