Interview with a New Japanese Teacher

Teacher: "Today we are going to prepare for an Interview. The subject of your interview is a new Japanese teacher who just arrived from Japan. You are eager to get as much information as you can. Let's begin by brainstorming what kind of questions you want to ask."
The students begin to suggest questions based on what they have learned. Some venture to ask questions they need help on to formulate them in Japanese. All the questions go up on the chart paper. With promptings the paper becomes full.
Teacher: "Now, let's go over the list you just created. The teacher just arrived from Japan. Will you ask all the questions you generated or will you hold back on some of them?"
Students begin to scrutinize the list of questions.
Student A: "I'm not sure if I would ask how old the teacher is. I don't think it's polite."
