Skill Building: Conversation

School Newspaper Interview

Situation: You are a reporter for the Japanese Club school newspaper. Your assignment is to write a piece about today's youth and their hopes and dreams about the future. You thought a comparative study might lend authenticity to your piece. Select two students. Interview these students and gather as much information as you can. Of course, you'll need to select students who are not alike in their profile. You may not need all the information you gather to write a great story, but being thorough, you don't want to leave any stone unturned. Take good notes, so that you can write an interesting piece. Your teacher will give you timeline for this in-class activity. Of course, all the interactions must be conducted in Japanese.
