Ikiteiru Nihongo Textbook Series

As my heart expanded to include all of my students, rewriting IKITEIRU NIHONGO became my hobby. I delighted in rewording and reworking activities, remembering each student. The yearly improvements in my personal teaching skills inspired dozen's of revisions, and to this day, this desire to do just one more revision to bring the materials up to "where I am now" is an overwhelming compulsion I cannot suppress. This desire led me to a never-ending curriculum building endeavor. I see the gap between where I want the texts to be far more often than the possibilities this set of teaching materials already offer. As I grow as a teacher, however, I find myself looking at curriculum or set of texts less as recipes and more as a set of contexts upon which the teachers skillfully weave different strategies tailored to the moment-to-moment readiness of students. Perhaps it is this that keeps me from taking apart the current set of pages and re-doing the entire texts.
