Conscious of the fact that students gain information, experiences, and skills through multiple intelligences and different learning styles, technology is an essential component in my teaching. I utilize both software and hardware in all aspects of the planning, preparation and deliverance of lessons and activities. Through technology, I am able to connect students to music through their aural, visual, kinesthetic, spatial, logical/mathematical, linguistic, and personal ways of knowing.

I use word processing, spreadsheets and the internet throughout the curriculum and planning process. There are visual aides and presentations prepared by various software programs. During lesson activities and discussions, I play CD's, DVD's, and videos. Digital video and still cameras capture students in action within classroom and performance settings. Composition programs, such as sequencing and music notation software, aid in the development of musical works and soundtracks. Electronic keyboards with MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) capabilities assist in the composition and performance process. Editing programs polish off final products that promote student engagement and participation.
