Adobe Acrobat Professional -

Intermediate Adobe Acrobat Professional for student feedback in distance learning courses.

Adobe created a file format for storing and editing printed publishable material. Known as PDF's (portable document format), these documents can be viewed and printed by users on a variety of computer and platform types. PDF files are used for electronic document exchange between computers and can be uploaded on the World Wide Web.

For the Adobe Acrobat Professional course module, functions that were covered are as follows:

- Inserting text into a PDF document
- Inserting electronic comments
- Utilizing drawing tools
- Utilizing commenting tools
- Creating links in a PDF document
- Downloading Web pages as a PDF document

Working in the electronic document environment for student feedback, has a number of benefits.

- The review of a pdf document can be conducted via e-mail or through a Web browser.
- Draw tools and markup tools are available to direct attention to specific comment areas while in the reviewing process.
- One is able to create a list of student reviewers to whom the document is sent and keep track of the feedback received.
- Once comments are received, an instructor is able to merge and consolidate comments from multiple student reviewers into the original PDF file, which can then be saved as a text file.
