GUIDELINES FOR APPROPRIATE COMPUTER USE

The primary purpose of the computers in this labis to facilitate the computer-based learning needs of students currently enrolled in New Media.

1. USE ONLY THE COMPUTER EQUIPMENT THAT HAS BEEN ASSIGNED TO YOU.

2. GET PERMISSION from Mr. Mills to use scanners, cameras or printers.

3. NO FOOD OR DRINKS are allowed at the computers

4. DO NOT PLACE ITEMS ON THE COMPUTERS. Leave backpacks, books, purses, etc. on side areas.

5. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN COMPUTER FILES. Bring your zip disks to back-up your computer files at the end of each class. DO NOT DELETE or COPY OTHER PEOPLE'S FILES

6. DO NOT USE THESE COMPUTERS TO PLAY Internet games, engage in Internet Chat, or "rip" MP3 files. E-MAIL MAY NOT be read or sent during class time. You may use the equipment only for assignments unless you get permission from Mr. Mills.

7. DO NOT INSTALL PROGRAMS on these computers. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO COPY PROGRAMS from these computers.

8. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO "FIX" these computers. Alert Mr. Mills if there is a problem.

9. Mr. Mills or another teacher MUST BE IN THE ROOM or nearby when the computer equipment is being used.

10. INDIVIDUAL(S) MAY BE DENIED USE of these computers, if they misuse or abuse any equipment; engage in conduct that is disturbing to others or violate these rules.
