TECHNOLOGY COURSES

  • Cisco Networking Academy Discovery
    Through a fast-paced, hands-on approach, students will learn the basics of computer trouble-shooting and networking including some router programming, Students will build computer ethernet cables and practice installation techniques. In the second semester students will build a simulated network for a school.

BUSINESS COURSES

  • Money Management and Investments
    Students will study the basic principles of money management. They will build practicial budgets, balance checking and savings accounts and also gain a better understanding the importance of saving money . Students will become proficient with a basic home accounting software program and apply it to a life simulation.

 

  • Introduction to Computer Technology
    Students will experience a wide variety of computer based skills in both hardware and software areas. Applications include Microsoft Office, Macromedia Suite and a varitey of keyboarding software to improve keyboarding performance. This project based course is intended to provide students with core skills necessary to produce top quality digital projects in the high school environment.
  • Keyboarding
    In this course students will learn proper keyboarding skills using assorted various keyboarding skill improvement programs. Students will progress through a variety of activities to improve their overall keyboarding proficiency as well as learn how to format various personal and business documents.

VISUAL ARTS COURSES

  • New Media (2 semester courses offered)
    This course is designed for students interested in and enthusiastic about learning to use the latest in computer technology as production and presentation tools.  Equipment and software used to create digital images, animations, video, and music will be introduced.  Students will have an opportunity to work independently and as a part of a group to plan and produce web sites and multimedia presentations.
