Ko Olina
There have been a few time changes to the new Disney Hotel Ground Breaking Ceremony at the Ko Olina Resort on Wednesday, November 19th. They will be leaving school about 8:30 a.m., performing, eating lunch, and returning to school about 2:00 p.m. Students who were scheduled to receive their flu shots will be having their shots at 8:15 a.m. Students are required to make up any work missed. If their teacher feels that he/she cannot attend due to missing work, or behavior, they will not be able to attend..
For the rehearsal the day before on Tuesday, November 18th, we will be leaving school at 3:00 p.m., rehearsing at the Ko Olina, eating dinner and then returning to school at about 8:45 p.m. We will have study hall during their breaks. If you would like to pick up your child from there, please meet us at the Roberts Hawaii buses at 8:00 p.m. If you are not there by the time we leave, you will need to pick up your child back at school. The new Disney Hotel is located at the Ko Olina resort next to the Marriot. The Marriot is on the right and the new hotel will be on the left. Again, the changed time of pick up at the music room will be at 8:45 p.m.
Students can wear their uniforms to school on Wednesday. If they decide to change, please have them bring it to school in a garment bag or a rubbish bag cover. They need to be changed and ready to go by 8:15 a.m. Please have them bring their regular KES uniform to change into after we return. We will be having choir rehearsal after school.
Don't Forget Thanksgiving Basket Items!
Wednesday, November 26th
3:15 p.m.
KES Music Room
Thank you to the many families that have already generously given items for the Thanksgiving Baskets.
Please keep bringing your items for our first community service project. These baskets will be filled with can goods, toiletries and household items which will be given to families at the Child Abuse shelter.
Many of these families had to leave their homes abruptly taking nothing but the clothes on their back.
We could use your help with ANY of the following items:
canned goods (tuna, spam, fruits, vegetables, etc.)
boxed foods (rice varieties, stuffing, mac & cheese, etc)
dry cereal (any variety)
dried saimin (Cup of Noodles, etc.)
powered milk, packets of hot chocolate or tea
soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes
Kleenex, paper towels, toilet paper
daily cleaning household items
You may start bringing in your donations, or sending them with your child to the music room from now until Wednesday, November 26th.
For those of you that volunteered your time to help, please meet at the music room on Wednesday, November 26th (right after choir practice), to help in putting together the "Thanksgiving Baskets." This is a change of date from our previous newsletter.
Thank you for supporting others in their time of need
