Maude Post is located on the mauka side of the Ali‘i Road. The dorm was also given a Hawaiian name, Nae‘ole. Maude Post is now named for Maude Post, who was the principal of the Preparatory Department from 1920-1932. In 1932 the Preparatory Department closed and Miss Post transferred to the Manual School and taught basic subjects to the 7th grade boys. Nearly a year after she transferred to the Manual School Miss Post died. Miss Post was greatly respected by the boys of the dormitory. She was a very kind, generous and graceful person. Though Her time on earth is over many people will remember what she has done for Kamehameha Schools.... read more |
